Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself

Are you feeling angry at your spouse for betraying your trust, letting you down, rejecting you, or are you angry at someone else who has  “wronged” you?

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than on that which it is poured. (Seneca)   What are you allowing to eat away at you and to burn a hole in your stomach or your heart?

Wikipedia also defines Anger as a reaction to a perceived wrong.  The two key words in this definition are “perceived”  and “reaction” .  A situation is neither good nor bad, it is your perception of it that gives meaning to the situation.  When you react to the situation, you give your power up to the person who created the situation.

Take back your power by first forgiving the transgressor.  It does not mean that what the person did was okay.
